No rights, no cover, why do we still take Affiliate Marketing Courses

Thinking a lot about this recently I have decided that part of the Internet is still the Wild West. If someone comes along and says they are the FRIEND of the great and good. Great and Good who may have given you good advice and helped you on your slow way to make money in the WW. We read their sales page, read their probably Ghost written book and think “well I am only at the beginning of my money trail, this person has made it, I will pay them $500 knowing that if it all fails I will get my money back”.

Sorry - if you are on a 12 week course YOU have 30 days if any to decide if this course is going to work. How the heck do you know - that is why you are on the course!

After 30 or 60 days you are lost and go back to the seller to total silence. You might even get total silence within the 30 day limit. On one course I did.

You go to PayPal - they do not cover non tangible goods so you have NO COVER there (but they do do a bit of stirring with the seller). If you paid by credit card you can at least try to get your money back from them with probably better results. The sellers guarantee that “You will make your money back or I will pay you the cost of the course” has no standing in law, so instead of paying you, they are off on another holiday.

Lets get down to it - if you pay for an IM course, you are taking a chance. You can work your socks off but it may not work for you. You have no rights unless a bound book or CD sent to you were included in the price.

You have rights when you buy a $500 TV or Sound System, why do you have no rights on the Internet.

For a method of training that has been around since the 1990’s it is about time we had some legal rights. You can buy a ‘diamond and emerald ring’ for $1 plus postage and send it back because it is not real. The words ‘laboratory made’ did not sink in. I have a very nice $1 necklace of synthetic pink sapphires but I did know I was getting glass.

Having just been on the worst course ever - I got my money back. I realised what was going on. Others have lost their money and their trust in the Internet. It is time those who have made fortunes from the Wild West Web and given us value for money tried to clear out the dross. More money for them and more integrity for the industry.

It can be worse. A colleague was on a $5K course when the course leader was killed in a car accident. He never got the course or his money back. Beginners, newbies, those starting out look to the best and it costs, sometimes more than money.

Recently I have been getting phone calls from the US asking me to take very expensive coaching and to put the money on my credit card - it is called leveraging? Well as I am of sane mind and guessing that at some time the whole edifice of the modern world would fall over I didn’t and don’t put anything on my credit card apart from small amounts paid off each month, I would not take a chance on an amount of money larger than the limit on my card!

We need a Sheriff. Not of  Nottingham but of protection for the huge amount of newbies that will be coming into the market as their jobs go up in flames. Is there anyone out there in the land of GURUdom willing to put their money where their mouth is.

Those of you who lost your money on the recent course - PayPal say if you put in a complaint and they get enough they ‘may’ do something about it. It is your best chance. They have sorted things for me before.

Di Chapman - who runs 1 free site and co-owns another.

PS - if it does not have an Honesty or some other sticker on the page, but just the sellers guarantee, think long and hard.

  1. I agree with you completely. I’ve been burned myself, but just ONCE. It was my fault really…I saw the “newbie” signs ahead of time but ignored them. Partly because I thought I’d give the guy a chance; but mostly because I *believed* him. I believed the B.S. he spouted about all his knowledge and coaches and his guarantee that I’d “at least” make my money back.

Well, never again. Not only will I never trust him again, but also the people he claims taught him. Because if what they teach is “how to B.S. people out of their money so you can go party”, I want nothing to do with them. IM has a bad enough name as it is.

But hey, that’s just me ;)

    Ok,

There is NO time to waist on this one and the only way I had of communicating with all of you was to go to each blog and post this message.

First of all, it feels great to be back. If you are one of the lovely people that was following my live soap opera on my baby’s health you would have known that I had to take time out to look after him. Thanks a lot for all the messages in support of that hard time, honestly.

He is doing great now, so I am back full time, desperately trying to recoup all the time I couldn’t dedicate myself to my business. But I need to confess I’ve grown a lot over the past few weeks. Won’t bore you here, check my blog if you want more details. Actually I’ve put some very good resources on a new page called ‘My slightly ‘mental’ exercises’.

Anyway this is about Rich Scheffren and Jay Abraham. Wow, not much introduction needed here, is there?

As you would know I also did the GPS coaching program with Rich at Strategic Profits along with Alex. Jay Abraham is one of Rich’s main mentors for good reason.

I do beg you to check this link https://schefren.infusionsoft.com/go/MORIcall/srodrigu/.

Yes it is my affiliate link, yes I will make money some how (not quite sure as yet because this is a link to an ENTIRELY FREE 2 HOURS COACHING WITH JAY HIM SELF) Oh My Dear Brazilian Lord..

    ***************************************************************
Because I am an Strategic Profits’ client, I’ve got my place guaranteed, so that is that. I checked the link and I’ve saved myself a place for one of the calls, there will be 3.

Then I’ve got this email from Brian (COO for Rich) giving me this link to pass it to my list and what do you know? I don’t have one, but I know you guys will benefit SOOO much from this call and is free.

The only one catch is that this is massively urgent. I’ve got the email before their affiliates will start sending it to their own lists. There will be only 3000 phone lines available. Can you imagine how many thousands of people will be teased about this call and will actually act faster than the speed of light?

So please stop whatever you might be doing, click on the link and save yourself a place. It’s free, but as Jay says himself on the form, take seriously, don’t sign up if you are not going to show up, you will actually be taking the place of someone that might really be needing and waisting someone’s right to hear this fantastic man teaching.

Take care and lot’s of love

I am new to all this making money online thing after having lost my automotive job at end of 2008. I was burned, bought a membership to a survey site. Embarassed to say it but i did. Got my money back after fighting with paypal for almost 2 weeks. All the sales pitches you see try to play on the psycological part of people. My favourite is this line “you see,” then they get all “soft” on ya. Give me a break they just want our money, they don’t want to help us.

  4. Ruth Stewart says:

    Hello,

    Yes, me too.

It is such a shame but it is how a huge chunk of the IM market works. It is not just our “guru” but a great many.

It works out ok for them doesn’t it? Take 500 people. Charge them $500. Of that take your favourite 10 or 15 people and mentor them. They are going to say great things about you because of course, you have really taught them everything you know. They are going great guns, and when you want to charge $2,000 for your mentoring course, they will be there saying how great you are and taking their $1,000 commission each time.

The other 490 people - well, most of them didn’t put in the effort did they? Maybe. Or maybe there are some people who did put in the effort, that did work hard, but they weren’t part of your chosen few. They wanted to learn, they listened to all the calls, they used all the advice, but they were just not part of the chosen few. So they didn’t get what they were told they were going to get.

Then a few of them asked for their money back. Bearing in mind that our “guru” has earnt $250,000 for this - you would have thought that would be ok. But no. And as Di said, you do not have rights. You will not be able to go through paypal. You have been stung mightily.

If you want to know which guru I am talking about, you can visit my blog http://www.ruthstewartmarketing.com.

This is what so called “gurus” do. So when you are offered mentoring, think very very carefully about it. Either make sure you pay by credit card, in which case you have some legal rights, or make sure you are one of the chosen few.

    All the best to you!

    Ruth Stewart

  5. Amy Skyler says:

I’ve heard that Alex Jeffreys is launching a new Coaching Program this week but it will be very expensive?

Why would you recommend Alex as a coach rather than other people like Michael Cheney, or Rich Schefren?

Been following Alex for a while now and enjoyed ‘The Gurus Dream’.

Have you made any money since you did Alex’s Coaching.

Will I get my money back if I sign up.

    Amy?

Amy, I am not sure why I have this message but would I use Alex as a coach, well the fact I got my money back from his course should answer that.

If you want a good starter course then try one by Shannon Herod. As amazing as it may be, he has never let me down and his prices are more than reasonable.

Michael Chaney started me off on my Adsense blitz which paid the bills for a couple of years. He has now moved on and so I cannot comment on his current courses. Rich - you need to be Rich to get on his course and one day I am going to - that or go and (with his wife’s) permission go on a live Frank Kern course as long as I can sit next to him or on is lap the whole way through.

    Di.
